Ivan Radić
Mayor of the City of Osijek
Ivan Radić was born on 15 June 1987 in Osijek, in the Republic of Croatia. He completed his undergraduate university studies in Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. He later obtained a graduate degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the same university, earning the academic title of Master of Economics. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in European Studies at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek.
His political career has been closely connected with the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), where he currently serves as a member of the Presidency of the party and as President of the Osijek City Committee of HDZ. During his political career, he has been elected as a Member of the Croatian Parliament in the 8th, 10th and 11th parliamentary terms. He currently serves as the Mayor of the City of Osijek.
Throughout his parliamentary work, he has been actively involved in several parliamentary committees. He currently serves as a member of the Committee on Petitions and Complaints of the Croatian Parliament. In previous parliamentary terms, he was a member of the Mandate and Immunities Committee, the Committee on Human Rights and the Rights of National Minorities, and the Committee on Physical Planning and Construction. He also served as Deputy Chair of the National Council for Monitoring the Implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and as a member of the National Water Council representing Members of the Croatian Parliament.
In addition to his political responsibilities, he is involved in several institutional and local development bodies. He serves as President of the Osijek City Tourism Council and President of the ITU Osijek Partnership Council, and is also a member of the Presidency of the Association of Cities in the Republic of Croatia.
Throughout his professional and political career, he has participated in several international programs and leadership initiatives. Among these are the 4th Mayors’ Forum “Summit of the Cities of the Future” in Geneva, the Future Leaders Invitation Program held in Paris, Strasbourg and Metz, and the Political Academy of the Croatian Statehood Foundation, where he was part of the 8th generation of participants.
