Branko Stanić, PhD is Deputy Director and Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Public Finance in Zagreb, Croatia. His research focuses on fiscal decentralization, the efficiency of local public services, budget transparency, and government accountability. He earned his PhD from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, and has pursued advanced training in econometrics and public policy evaluation at institutions such as Barcelona School of Economics, Paris School of Economics, Utrecht University, and the University of Murcia. Branko is Associate Editor of the journal Public Sector Economics and actively engaged in research and policy discussions related to public finance. He has led and collaborated on numerous research projects examining local government finance and related fiscal issues in Croatia. He regularly presents his research at international conferences and policy events.
