Damir Krešić

Dr. Damir Krešić is a renowned expert in the field of tourism, with over two decades of professional experience, particularly in destination management, strategic planning, and sustainable tourism development. He holds a degree in Finance from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, where he also earned his Ph.D. in Tourism.

Dr. Krešić currently serves as the Managing Director of the Institute for Tourism, the only public scientific institute in Croatia dedicated exclusively to tourism research and consultancy. The Institute is renowned for its multidisciplinary approach, ongoing scientific research, and long-standing commitment to education and professional development. Over the course of his career, Dr. Krešić has led and participated in a wide range of tourism development projects, working closely with stakeholders at the national, regional, and local levels. His work has given him extensive insight into the dynamics of the tourism sector and a deep understanding of the interplay between public and private actors in destination management and marketing.

In addition to his professional work, Dr. Krešić is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. He has authored numerous academic and professional articles published in leading journals in the field of tourism. Dr. Krešić has also served as a member of the Economic Affairs Council of the President of the Republic of Croatia and is currently a member of the Scientific Council for Tourism and Space at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
